With Dentaid to the gargling diploma

Dentaid, the Mannheim-based oral care company, is calling on people to gargle against infections and for general health in a social media campaign.

On the especially created page www.vitis-gurgeldiplom.de, consumers can find out which type of gurgler they are and choose any song from six categories. Those who post their gargled song under the hashtag #vitisgurgeldiplom can win oral care packages including an Ökotest test winner Vitis Sonic toothbrush. Of course, participants will receive their personal gargling diploma to fill out – thus, gargling fun for the whole family. The campaign, developed by dk Life Science Communications, is supported by well-known family influencers. This is because Vitis is the brand for individual prevention for the whole family - from babies to old age.

Why gargle?

The reciprocal relationship between periodontitis and various general diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases is widely known and intensively researched. During the pandemic, oral rinses have been shown to mitigate the viral load of certain pathogens and thus the risk of further spread. Studies have shown particular promise for the active ingredient cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC), which the Spanish market leader Dentaid uses in all its products. In addition to plaque bacteria, which cause caries, gingivitis and periodontitis, CPC can also eliminate certain viruses. It destroys the viral membrane of influenza and coronaviruses, for example, including SARS-CoV-2. In the S1 dental guideline on infection protection, CPC is therefore recommended for pre-rinsing.
