dk Life Science Communications wins pitch from the German Midwives’ Association
Success for dk Life Science Communications: The Frankfurt-based healthcare agency has won a pitch for a new campaign with the Deutscher Hebammenverband (German Midwives Association – DHV). dk is developing a political campaign for the DHV with the aim of sustainably improving the situation of midwifery in Germany.
“We are delighted that the DHV has brought us on board for this important and challenging task – we are convinced that we are exactly the right partner for the DHV,” explains Dr. Andreas Kloevekorn, Managing Director at dk Life Science Communications.
The DHV was impressed by the agency’s performance: “The dk team presented us with a simple yet eye-catching campaign idea. We particularly liked the strategic approach and the creative implementation of the campaign claim ‘Women pay the price’,” explains Ulrike Geppert-Orthofer, President of the DHV. “The early general election has changed the timing of our campaign. We need a campaign that can be implemented in just eight weeks and an agency partner that can act quickly and flexibly. dk impressed us on both counts.”
dk is working on the campaign with an integrated team that also includes a creative team from WEFRA LIFE SOLUTIONS. “Not only can we fully utilize our own core competence in healthcare communication for this topic, but by working with WEFRA LIFE we can also bring strong creative expertise to the table – a major advantage of being part of the WEFRA LIFE Group,” says Kloevekorn.
Background to the campaign: One third of all women in Germany suffer birth trauma during childbirth – a situation that the DHV urgently wants to change: “This is a situation that is intolerable for a highly developed country like Germany. For this reason, we are calling for 1:1 care by midwives for all mothers during childbirth,” says Geppert-Orthofer.
The “Women pay the price” campaign starts on February 7 with a rally in front of the German Reichstag in Berlin and runs with further campaigns on International Women’s Day on March 8 until World Midwifery Day on May 5. The aim is to obtain as many votes as possible for the association’s core demands and thus underline the association’s demands to politicians.
The petition will be available at www.hebammenverband.de/petition when the campaign starts on February 7.
The Deutscher Hebammenverband e.V. is the strongest representative of the midwifery profession in Germany with around 22,000 members and at the same time a relevant voice for the interests of pregnant women and mothers.
